What the Moon told me

This series of wall sculptures explores the contrast and complimentary essences of structure (metal wire) and softness (felted merino wool).

This series reflects on the essential and magnificent duality that co-exists within each and every one of us and is reflected in society.

Chamonix invites us to reverse how we tend to operate: using our rigid structures to support the gentle warmth of life, rather than containing and suppressing it.

My creative process

I started working on this series when my husband and children were away visiting family. I found myself alone for the first time in a decade, completely in control of my environment and time. I took this opportunity to explore what my creative dreams looked and felt like.

I redesigned and redecorated my home and turned the whole house in a creative studio…

But then I found out that my mother in law had been rushed to hospital and my heart started to ache.

I am no stranger to grief, however I felt that it was time to apply everything that I had learned from healing my heart and tuning into my soul.

I know that the best thing to do with any emotion is to make space for it and allow it to flow.  Easier said than done, but I know with absolute certainty that creating art is the best way for me to do that.

I spent every second at home immersed in creating these circular shapes that blend structure and softness. I channelled my love, my trust and deep surrender into every piece and connected with a deeper sense of meaning, beyond the grief I was experiencing.

When I tune inwards and feel into the vast expansive and interconnected nature of life, there is no right or wrong, there is no resistance, just love and presence.

This project started a devotional creative practice and resulted in tangible pockets of love that I hope will scatter across our physical reality, like a constellation- connected and communicating the balance and beauty that is inherent to all of life.

Vibrational art has the power to carry a frequency and become a portal for that energy to radiate from.

Each piece is unique and comes beautifully packaged with it’s own luxurious ritual practice to transform a space into a sanctuary.
